Have you been out on a trail lately? If so, let’s give it up for trail blazes.
I mean, unless you know the way, don’t blazes reassure you are on the right path? A reminder someone has gone this way before you and left a mark, so you know the right way to go without getting lost.
Hebrews chapter 11 is full of trailblazers, heroes of faith who blazed and marked the trail, so I don’t have to get lost and be Weary by Wednesday.
Hebrews 12:1-3 sums it up:
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. Hebrews 12:1-3
I have to say, I really appreciate trail blazes, and the trailblazers who make getting out to explore much easier. I also appreciate the faithful trailblazers listed in Hebrews 11, their perseverance in faith is a real encouragement as I walk this trail.
Any trailblazing stories you’d like to share? Let me know, I would love to hear them!
