Over the river and through the woods…
Except we weren’t going to grandma’s house, we were pulling it, on switchback filled, mountain roads.
We collected cars along the way.
Well, we were pretty slow, pulling grandma’s house, and were actually causing all the congestion behind us. So every few miles, we pulled into a turn out to let the traffic move ahead.
Many of the cars that moved ahead said thank you, by blinking their flashers. It was really cute watching them go by and do a little blink.
Not all of the cars blinked, however. There is no real rule that you have to or anything, but then again, we didn’t have to pull aside, and let them move along.
Some people just miss thankfulness. I know I do sometimes, and being unthankful is a sure step towards being Weary by Wednesday.
Saying thank you is one of the first hints in life our parents give us for success. God’s word is filled with it too.
How is your thankful today?
Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. Colossians 3:15-17
