Sometimes we get to go, and sometimes we need to stay. I think going is easier for most, it is for me.
The man from Gerasenes was freed from a legion of demons by Jesus. He was completely restored to sanity, after who knows how many years of crazy. He would no longer be Weary by Wednesday.
As Jesus was getting into the boat, the man who had been demon-possessed begged to go with him. Jesus did not let him, but said, “Go home to your own people and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you.” So the man went away and began to tell in the Decapolis how much Jesus had done for him. And all the people were amazed. Mark 5:18-20
His response to healing was to go with Jesus.
Get out of Dodge.
Avoid any embarrassment for what he may have done to his family, friends, and neighbors, before his healing.
Jesus had a different idea for the healing process.
Stay here, with your people, and show them what I have done for you.
And…wait for it…”all the people were amazed.”
Each Christian has a healing story, some are more dramatic than others, but nonetheless, each of us should be sharing the story of what Jesus has done for us.
If you do not have a healing story, a life changed through grace is only a prayer away. You too can know peace beyond all understanding, in this crazy world we live in.
I would be honored to pray with you.
For those already healed, I’m praying for boldness, for you to share your story, where you are.
Thanks for sharing your Wednesday with me.
