I had enough.

The nit-picking, nagging, negative, one-up, win the argument talk, had to stop.

It was not only making me Weary by Wednesday, it was lingering into Thursday and Friday!

The negative thoughts and words, were even coming out while spending time with friends. 

I had to get a handle on this, it was effecting relationships all around me, but especially my closest one.

On Saturday morning, I read this Proverb:

A person’s wisdom yields patience; it is to one’s glory to overlook an offense. Proverbs 19:11


There was the crux of my problem! I felt as though I had the right to point out every thing that offended me.

And I mean everything!

To the point I didn’t even want to be in the same space as myself, because I was so negative. Not to mention, in my negative, I was encouraging negative back.

I made the above Proverb into a pic and saved it to the lock screen on my phone, first thing on Saturday morning.

Every time I touch my phone, I am reminding myself to be wise. To ask myself if that thought is healthy, relevant, and necessary. If I said that out loud will anything be gained? Or am I just spreading fuel to start a fire?

At the end of day one, I was already being a nicer person. I could almost stand myself for more than five minutes! By the end of day three, I even received a compliment.

Negative talk and snide remarks, don’t correct offense.

Wisdom is knowing when to speak and when to use duct tape!

I used to memorize scripture by writing them on 3×5 cards. I think I’ve may have found a new way to “hide God’s word in my heart.”

I challenge you to find a verse that really confronts an issue you are dealing with. Make it your screen saver for a few days! Let me know how it goes, I’d love to know!
