I sat here with a cup of coffee and thought about the cookies left from Christmas, and I couldn’t resist.
My Nanny baked cookies and let us eat them for breakfast (don’t tell my Mom, I think she might still get mad!) And, she would let us dip them in coffee! We weren’t aloud to drink the coffee though, I think it was a wive’s tail about stunting your growth or something.
But cookies for breakfast…was alright!
Starting out the new year with comfort food and warm memories, even wacky ones that don’t always make sense, gives me hope for the coming year. If I survived some of the things of my memories…I can make it in 2018.
I know not everything is going to be perfect in 2018, but I’m not going to believe everything will make me Weary by Wednesday either.
So while I sit here dunking my cookies, thinking about my Nanny, I’m also thinking about making new memories in 2018. (I wonder what wive’s tails I could perpetuate with my grandkids?)
But Timothy has just now come to us from you and has brought good news about your faith and love. He has told us that you always have pleasant memories of us and that you long to see us, just as we also long to see you. 1 Thessalonians 3:6
How about you? Do you have any favorite memories to ponder as the new year begins?
Thanks for sharing your Wednesday with me. I’m praying 2018 will be a year filled with blessing and hope for you.
