I woke way too early, it was the final day of the conference, and I was spent.
I could hear the birds’ early morning song as I laid there. They seemed to be saying, “come here,” or was it, “come near?” Their diction may have been a little off.
Maybe it was their beaks?
Or the water in my ears?
I was still drying off, from the fire hydrant of information, offered at Florida Christian Writer’s Conference.
I was a bit overwhelmed.
What’s the first step? How will I decide what the best first thing to do is?
I was a lot overwhelmed!
But I heard it clearly in the morning chatter, Jesus was saying, “Come here, come near, I’ll help you dry off and make sense of it all.”
“No need for anxiety, or stress. Yoke up with me and I will share this load.”
“You don’t have to be Weary by Wednesday, because I got this with you.”
I don’t know what might be overwhelming you this week, but Jesus does. He is calling you too, “Come near.”
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” (Matthew 11:28-30)
Jesus, the blessing is always mine when I come near to you. Hug me close and help me embrace your rest.
Thanks for sharing your Wednesday with me. I am praying for you!
